I tried out again for Track and Field this year. This sport
is really important for me. I give it all I have and try my hardest. I think it
is a complete sport which works on your body as a whole and the injuries are
limited. I am doing the same events as
last year and I hope to see some improvement by the end of the season.
My main focuses are in long jump and my 400m. This race is
one of the hardest and requires a lot of work. It is not a distance race, but
it is almost impossible to sprint throughout. Last year I was not able to go
under 1:06, and my coaches told me that it was because of my endurance. For
this reason for the first 2 or 3 months I am doing distance work as part of my
whole workout. Hopefully by the end I
will see a result, because distance is really hard, and I feel like my body is
not getting endurance between each practice.
For my other events, (shot-put, 200m and both 4x100m and
4x400m relays), I think I have build up a pretty strong base last year. I still
need to work on hand off in the 4x10m especially as all of my partners left at
the end of last year. For shot-put I need to work on the passing through of my
energy. I get the movement well enough but when I release the shot-put not all
my energy is being transferred, and I therefore loose quite a lot of distance.
